The Derwent Valley Railway Preservation Society is proud to announce Kiah Wicks as our new Ambassador.
A former resident of the Derwent Valley, Kiah graduated from New Norfolk High School in 1999. During her school years, she was an active participant in the debating team, public speaking events, and school productions — early signs of her natural confidence and passion for communication.
With a deep interest in media and public speaking, Kiah went on to study marriage law and has been a Commonwealth-registered marriage and funeral celebrant for the past seven years.
For the last two and a half years, Kiah has been a familiar face to viewers across Tasmania as a respected Weather Presenter for 7NEWS Tasmania. Her warmth, professionalism, and approachable style have made her a trusted presence in Tasmanian homes.
Beyond her media work, Kiah is a passionate supporter of her community. She serves as an ambassador for several charitable organisations, including the Clifford Craig Foundation, where she recently helped raise more than $15,000 in just twelve hours, contributing toward the organisation’s goal of $80,000 to support hospitals across northern and western Tasmania.
Kiah’s strong community spirit and pride in her Derwent Valley roots make her the perfect representative for our railway. We are delighted to have her join us as Ambassador of the Derwent Valley Railway — continuing her commitment to celebrating and promoting our region and its rich history.
Kiah is very community driven and is incredibly proud to have been a part of the local community here in the Derwent Valley, just as she is today as we officially announce her as our ambassador of the Derwent Valley Railway Preservation Society Inc.
